pandora v.s troll beads v.s chamilia

Trollbeads all started in Denmark in 1976. The first bead, which later gave name to the Trollbeads collection, was a small bead decorated with no less than 6 faces. It was designed by Søren Silversmith and sold from his father Svend's jewellery shop in central Copenhagen.

The beads were created at a time where it was fashionable to have a silver bead hanging on a leather thong around the neck. But instead of letting the bead hang in an eyelet, Søren wanted to let the leather cord go through the bead. Later on, Søren's sister, Lise, began to put the beads on silver bracelets, one on each bracelet.

To this day, members of the creative Nielsen/Aagaard family participate in the actual sculpture of the beads, as well as the manufacturing. Until the year 2000 every design came from the family. To increase the diversity of the collection, 10 famous Danish jewellery designers was invited to make their signature Trollbead in the collection, and many of the designers still add beads to the collection every year.

Eat.Pray.Love

Just watched to movie last night
And the first thing that hit me was not how stunning Julia was in her role...
But the artistry behind the lens.

I not only saw but was brought in the the three different worlds.
Italy,India and  Bali
By the time they showed us India i had to know who the director of photography was for this movie.
My Roommate answered Robert Richardson.

That name seemed so very familiar to me but I didn't know how.
Then I went on imb and saw all the movies that had him on as director of photography.
Hugo,Eat Pray Love,Shudder Island, the aviator, The Good Shepard, Kill bill(1-2),The Horse Whisperer,Wag the Dog,
A Few Good Men, The Doors,Platoon.

  • The  Director of Photography job is  responsible for the look and feel of a piece on film.
  • is responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image.
  •  is responsible for capturing the film image as required by the script, under supervision of the director.

Required Skills

  • An in-depth knowledge of camera functions, lenses, lighting and other cinematography skills
  • An understanding of photographic composition and design
  • Creativity
  • Computer skills are necessary for many editing and other related tasks

Eat pray love had a similar feel to it visually as Wag the Dog but had more light captured and played with like   The horse whisperer.

As an artist and am blown away when I see what one can do with light on film... it takes my breath away

I wish I wish i wish

The design for Jacqueline was inspired by the fashion of the ‘60s—mod culture, Chanel jackets, and, of course, Jackie O. A modern update on the styles of that decade, this jacket combines a vintage texture and silhouette with a modern fit and chunky convertible collar. Wear it to the office with the collar buttoned up or casually with the collar open!

Jacqueline is designed for a bulky wool yarn that holds its shape in the weave-like Rizotto stitch. The body is worked in one piece from the bottom up, with sleeves attached raglan-style and collar worked separately.

How I learned to knit

Gurl.com tutorial :)

1. Make a slip-knot on one needle just like you learned at Girl Scout camp. Congratulations, this counts as your first stitch! If you are exhausted from the work, take a lemonade break. [see diagram 1 ]

2. Hold the slip-knotted needle in your left hand and hold the other needle in your right hand. Insert the point of the right hand needle from front to back into the slip-knot and under the left needle. [see diagram 2]

3. Without moving anything, situate your hands so both needles are being supported by the left hand. [see diagram 3]

4. With right hand, pick up the yarn that is connected to the ball of yarn. Use your index finger to bring the yarn under and then over the point of the right needle. [see diagram 4]

5. Holding the right needle with the right hand again, pull the loop you made on the right needle through the left needle stitch. [see diagram 5]

6. Pull the loop that you have made with the right needle onto the point of the left needle. Then slide out the right needle so the loop is now on the left needle. [see diagram 6]

7. Hooray, you cast on a stitch! You should now have 2 stitches casted on the left needle, like this: [see diagram 7]

8. Pull the yarn gently to tighten the stitch onto the needle. It should be snug like a bug, but not a bug that is too snug in a rug wearing Uggs.

9. Now, hold the needles in the right and left hands just as you did in the beginning. Insert the point of the right needle, from front to back, into the new stitch on the left needle and repeat steps 4-6 to cast on more stitches onto the left needle.

If you can't get the point of your needle into the stitch, you're pulling too tight. The number of stitches you cast on will show you an estimate of how wide your scarf will be, but keep in mind that the scarf will get a little wider once you start knitting. A normal number of stitches to cast on for a scarf is about 25. To count the number of stitches, just count the loops on the needle!

I love this How-To by gurl.com it has everything I needed to learn as a beginner <3
If you continue to the link it will teach you how to knit a stitch, Purl,Pattern and cast off :)

Eat Like A Caveman

Every year in the United States, 325,000 people are hospitalized because of food-borne illnesses and 5,000 die, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That’s right: food kills one person every two hours.

One of the best ways to keep your immune system strong and prevent colds and flu might surprise you: Shop your supermarket’s produce aisle.
Experts say a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help you ward off infections like colds and flu. That’s because these super foods contain immune-boosting antioxidants

Immune tolerance or immunological tolerance is the process by which the immune system does not attack an antigen.[1] It can be either 'natural' or 'self tolerance', in which the body does not mount an immune response to self antigens, or 'induced tolerance', in which tolerance to external antigens can be created by manipulating the immune system.

Treatments for autoimmune disease have traditionally been immunosuppressiveanti-inflammatory (steroids), or palliative.[4] Non-immunological therapies, such as hormone replacement in Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Type 1 diabetes mellitus treat outcomes of the autoaggressive response, thus these are palliative treatments. Dietary manipulation limits the severity of celiac disease. Steroidal or NSAID treatment limits inflammatory symptoms of many diseases. IVIG is used for CIDP and GBS. Specific immunomodulatory therapies, such as the TNFα antagonists (e.g. etanercept), the B cell depleting agent rituximab, the anti-IL-6 receptor tocilizumab and the costimulation blocker abatacept have been shown to be useful in treating RA. Some of these immunotherapies may be associated with increased risk of adverse effects, such as susceptibility to infection.

Zinc – Zinc helps regulate your immune system and helps with wound healing. Enough said.

Beta-carotene and other carotenoids: Apricots, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, corn, green peppers, kale, mangoes, turnip and collard greens, nectarines, peaches, pink grapefruit, pumpkin, squash, spinach, sweet potato, tangerines, tomatoes, and watermelon.
Vitamin C: Berries, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cantaloupe, cauliflower, grapefruit, honeydew, kale, kiwi, mangoes, nectarines, orange, papaya, red, green or yellow peppers, snow peas, sweet potato, strawberries, and tomatoes.
Vitamin E: Broccoli, carrots, chard, mustard and turnip greens, mangoes, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers, spinach, and sunflower seeds.
Other super foods that are rich in antioxidants include:
  • Prunes
  • Apples
  • Raisins
  • All berries
  • Plums
  • Red grapes
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Onions
  • Eggplant
  • Beans
Vitamins aren’t the only antioxidants in food. Other antioxidants that may help boost immunity include
  • Zinc: Found in oysters, red meat, poultry, beans, nuts, seafood, whole grains, fortified cereals, and dairy products
  • Selenium: Found in Brazil nuts, tuna, beef, poultry and fortified breads, and other grain products
