re-purposed furniture

There's something almost magical about finding an old piece of furniture that no one wants, giving it a new touch of paint in a colour that's in and suddenly your have a piece that looks like a million bucks... and of course everyone want to know where you got it and were they can buy one for there house.

And then you have the furnature that is glued together form old pieces of wood or bits of signs.
so original that you will never have the same piece made twice. Up- cycling wood to save it form the dump and to stop us from cutting down more trees is a brilliant way to stay eco friendly
yet stylish.

Do you have any old pieces of furniture just lying around that could be improved with a bit of tender loving sanding and afresh coat of paint? kijiji is just littered with pieces looking for a good home. Post your picture here of your up cycled re-purposed finds :)

Knit for kids

um yes!!

Knit for Kids began in 1996 though Guideposts magazine as a way to send hand-knit or crocheted sweaters to children in need.

Thanks to people like you, over half a million children have received something new for the first time in their lives. As children grow out of their sweaters, they have become cherished hand-me-downs to other children.

In order to help even more children, Guideposts magazine turned the

Knit for Kids program over to long-time partner, World Vision in 2009.
